Troubleshooting the Advanced Skincare (v1) WandUpdated a month ago

Please see the videos below for some troubleshooting tips related to our v1 Advanced Skincare Wand

Wand Doesn't Turn On (Advanced Skincare Wand, V1 Model)

Tips for Success:

  • Charge the Wand fully for up to 2 hours before the first use, or until the blinking light remains steady. Do not overcharge the Wand or charge overnight. Please avoid using "fast chargers", as that will adversely affect the battery life of the Wand.

  • To preserve battery health, allow the Wand to deplete before charging. Do not charge after every session if the light at the bottom is not blinking.

  • If your Wand is not charging or not holding a charge, please try using a different charging block and outlet than you normally do. If you have a different micro-USB cord, we would suggest trying that as well.
  • The length of each session will determine how often the Wand needs to be charged. If you are using the Wand for 5 min each session then you should get about 12 sessions from one full charge. If you use it for the full 30 min each time you should get about two sessions.
  • Use an oil-free serum with conductive ingredients, such as hyaluronic acid or aloe (like our Renew Complex Serum for example), in order to distribute the microcurrent.
  • Hold the Wand at the bottom when you are using it, as this is necessary to complete the circuitry.
  • The Wand is touch-activated when in contact with hydrated skin (the Wand won't activate on dry skin). In instances where the Wand stops mid-session, it may be because you need to apply more serum or it needs to be charged (the light at the bottom will blink momentarily when it needs to be charged).
  • Try to maintain contact with your skin as you move the Wand to different areas.
  • If the Wand stops after you remove it from your skin, this is normal. The sensor has detected that the Wand is no longer in contact with your skin and deactivates.
  • If the Wand turns off during use and does not need to be charged, set it down on a flat surface for 15 seconds. Then pick up the Wand and pinch the head to reactivate. If it does not reactivate, set it down for 30 sec. Note: “over-pinching” can confuse the sensor. Just pinch the head firmly and hold for 1 sec to reactivate. If the Wand does not reactivate, do not pinch over and over. Set it down for 30 sec and try again.
Pro Tip:
  • If your Wand turns off during use, try cleaning it. Spray a cloth with disinfectant spray and gently rub the face of the Wand (never spray the Wand directly).

Wand Stopped Mid Session (Advanced Skincare Wand, V1 Model)

Tips for Success:

Pro Tip:
  • You can apply your serum to your skin straight from the dropper and then use the Wand to spread it as you glide the Wand on your skin. Once you're ready to continue to a new area, keep the Wand in motion with one hand as you apply serum to the new area with your other hand. Then switch the Wand to the new area and repeat. This can help with keeping your skin hydrated longer.

Wand Won't Turn Off (Advanced Skincare Wand, V1 Model)

Tips for Success:

  • Typically, when the Wand doesn't turn off, it means that some additional serum or moisture may have gotten behind the Wand head, confusing the sensor and causing it to remain activated. Please be sure you aren't using an oil-based product with the Wand!

  • Also, please make sure the Wand is not exposed to extreme heat, water, or steam. We advise against storing in your bathroom unless the Wand is in a protective case.

  • As a reminder, to clean the Wand, spray a cloth with water or disinfecting spray, and then gently wipe the head of the Wand.

  • The Wand is not waterproof and should not be sprayed directly or submerged.

  • Be mindful not to soak the cleaning cloth, as too much moisture may affect the Wand’s sensor. Just dampen the cloth enough to clean the Wand.

  • Check around the back of the Wand head to ensure there is no serum or other product remnants from regular usage between the Wand head and the handle. Rotate the Wand head and use a dry cloth to gently remove any residue. If there are any remnants of product on the Wand (or behind the head) it can cause it to remain activated.

  • Have you run your Wand through a full charging cycle (2 hours)? Have you done this in a different outlet or method than normal? In most cases, this will solve this particular issue.

  • If you have a different micro-USB cord, we would suggest trying that as well. Please avoid charging your Wand overnight as that will deplete the battery life over time, and avoid using "fast chargers."
